Wellness Works is looking for an RN to join us part time as an Occupational and Wellness Health nurse. We are a fast growing, nurse-owned, small business located in the Southern Vermont area. We are looking to expand our nursing staff with self-motivated, critical thinkers who have an interest in helping employees reach their best health. GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

The primary responsibility of the Occupational Health and Wellness Nurse is to provide excellent care to clients in the workplace. The role requires the provision of comprehensive, compassionate care that is delivered to a diverse population. Role responsibilities within this setting are defined below.

The position is PART-TIME and/or PER DIEM with the potential for expanding to more hours in the future.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Clinical Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates enthusiasm to provide nursing care for employees.

  • Promotes an inclusive environment and displays cultural competency.

  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate strong critical thinking skills.

  • Triages injured or sick employees to appropriate level of care.

  • Provides case management services for workers compensation injuries.

  • Works with individual employees to improve overall health through changes in modifiable risk factors for disease.

  • Collaborates with leadership to meet wellness and safety objectives.

  • Promotes employee goals that are specific, measurable, action-oriented, realistic, and timely.

  • Displays strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing with current registration in New Hampshire or Vermont.

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.

Experience:

  • Experience with wellness-oriented nursing preferred, but not required.

  • Occupational Health experience preferred.

Communication skills:

  • Demonstrates highly effective verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Communicates in a professional, courteous, clear, and concise manner.

  • Collaborates with Safety Director on relevant matters of health and safety.

  • Independently gives presentations to staff on significant health and wellness topics.
